Illicit Magic

Stella Mayweather, #1

Stella has spent her life living in a world without connections. She has grown up in various foster homes always having to leave when something unusual happens to anything or anyone around her. She works for a temp agency going to different jobs and filling in, never staying long enough to have someone question odd occurrences around her. This is all about to change. There has been a string of murders of women being burned at the stake. This is similar to what happened in the old days to supposed "witches."

Stella is on her way home from her latest temp job, when she realizes she is being followed. When she manages to glance back she sees a group of men following her chanting "Burn the witch, burn the witch." She hides in some bushes and almost gets caught. She escapes by using her powers to transport her to safety. Once there she discovers that there is a whole world that she didn't even realize existed. She is now an integral part of it.

Can she live long enough to discover her past, and improve her powers? You have to read this book to find out.

This is a great book, I couldn't put it down. I loved every minute of it. I was thoroughly engrossed from the get go. I can't wait to read the continuing adventures of Stella Mayweather.
