In the final installment on Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson Guardian Series, Riley is dealing with the loss of her Mate. The catch is she didn't love her mate. See she is half vampire half werewolf and she has a mate for both halves. Her werewolf mate was a murder, and he killed one of Riley's best friends. Now she knew she never loved Kye but, now that her werewolf mate is dead she is left with an empty feeling that produces an emotional reaction. Even though she didn't love Kye she is still feeling the complete and utter loss of one of her life Mates.
Riley has had enough of her life before this point, she doesn't want to work for the Directorate any more, she has just seen enough death and suffering for one lifetime. But there is one last case that must be solved from the inside. Riley's, heart, mind, body and soul will be put to the test in "Moon Sworn" and there’s no telling whether or not she will come out of this one intact.
Now I am a huge fan of the Riley Jenson Guardian Series, always have been ever since the first book! (Full Moon Rising) This final book was not my favorite, mainly because the main character loses her memory for pretty much the entire book. Now I went along with it and don't get me wrong the story was amazing as usual, but, I was just...... I guess hoping for more.
I loved that this was the last book and most things get resolved in this book. Riley has been through so much throughout the series and I was glad to see her get her Happily Ever After. But this isn't the end to the Riley Jenson world; there is a spin-off of this series focusing on a character from this series. Her name is Risa Jones and she is the little blonde haired, purple eyed girl with amazing talents. So you get to see more of Riley and Quinn in the spin-off.
Back to "Moon Sworn" I can't think of a better way to end this epic series, and I have never lost faith in Ms. Arthur's writing. She has an amazing eye for detail and unseen talent at drawing the reader into her world! Nothing compares to Keri Arthur's books. This is a must read for any paranormal fan! Though if you haven't read the rest of the series I wouldn't recommend starting here, go to the beginning and before you know it you'll be here with me at the finish with "Moon Sworn"! I LOVED this series and I hope you will as well!
Some nights never end.
Some desires never die. . . .
Shape-shifting werewolf and vampire Riley Jenson is through with death—causing it, solving it, surviving it. Her soul mate, Kye Murphy, is dead—and at Riley’s own hands. Not even the seductive embrace of her vampire lover, Quinn, can fully ease her mind, for she has begun questioning everything that makes her Riley—including her job at the Directorate.
Now, the ritualistically slain bodies of ex-cons have started turning up. Reluctantly, Riley takes the case, but something even worse is waiting in the wings. A vicious enemy from her past is determined to strip Riley of everything that gives her life any meaning: her lover, her brother—and even her own identity. Can Riley survive this ultimate assault? All she knows is, she must fight one last time to find answers, before everything goes dark forever.
