Thanks for stopping over Christine. Great to have you here. Please share with us what "The Hidden Legacy" is about.
Premonition is a curse that follows Faye Lithyer. Upon seeing a new friend fall victim in an upcoming murder, Faye becomes determined to stop it. Of course Faye is not enthusiastic about sharing the vision of her friend, but it may be the only way to prevent it from happening. Faye will be faced with an epic decision that threatens to expose her abilities and turn her into an outcast. Will she choose to save her friend from a monster, even if it means sacrificing herself?
What is your writing place like?
Cozy. I write from a desk at home filled with natural light. When I change things up, I go to the local bookstore/coffee shop to feel a part of something bigger.
What's next for you as an author?
As mentioned, I have 2 projects in the works: a dystopian novel and a guidebook. However, I am planning out the sequel to my recently published novel, "The Hidden Legacy", and I look forward to furthering that journey.
This is the beginning of my writing career. "The Hidden Legacy" is my first published novel but I have so many stories swimming in my head, they will all be written at some point. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
At what point did you know you wanted to publish a book?
I was eighteen years old and finishing high school when I ran out of books to read. We were up north with no internet, no library and no more reading material (I finished whatever we brought with us). Luckily I had my laptop. While listening to music, I realized I was developing a new storyline with characters and plots that were becoming their own. The only logical move was to begin writing it down. From there, publishing seemed like the right direction.
Do you feel music has inspired your writing?
Absolutely. Music has always been an outlet to unleash my stories. With every song and genre, a new story unfolds within my mind. A rock song might elicit a fighting scene just as a slow song may bring about a sad one. Music does not merely inspire my writing - it unlocks it.
What place is on the top of your to travel to list?
What isn't on my travel list? I look forward to travelling to so many places that it is difficult to choose which destination is next! I suppose Machu Picchu in Peru would be highest on my list. I've been wanting to visit there since Grade Twelve but haven't had the opportunity.
What genres do you write in and what inspired you to write in these genres?
I began writing fiction, fantasy because my interests resided there at the time. However, my first novel to be published was a fiction, paranormal, suspense with contemporary romance woven in to the mix. I leaned towards this area because of the complexity and I have always been more inclined to read about the unexplainable. Interestingly enough, my latest novel is a dystopian, sci fi that I am in the midst of editing while simultaneously co-writing a guidebook. It is safe to say I am branching out regarding my writing tastes. My most recent projects came from opportunity and inspiration. Opportunity to co-write a book in a genre I am less familiar with, and inspiration to push myself into an even more complex genre such as sci fi. I am excited to share them with all of you!
It's been great having you over. Do you have anything else you would like to share with the readers?
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a few minutes to read about me and my latest novel, "The Hidden Legacy"! The support is nothing short of amazing and I would not be here without the constant encouragement from those around me. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
