This was great start to this series. Lizzie is a witch with strong magical powers but she wants nothing to do with that side of herself. She comes from a powerful family and they have certain expectations from her that she does not want any part of. Lizzie has been on the run since she was 16 years old.
Lizzie and her human familiar, Belle, have landed in a town called Castle Rock which is on the Faelen werewolf reservation. Lizzie looks for lost things like jewelry etc but nothing more serious as she doesn't want anyone finding out about her powers. She ends up getting drug into looking for a missing girl and this takes us on quite the adventure.
I loved both Lizzie and Belle. I thought they were well done and entertaining. I also really liked the side characters. I felt like this book opened up a lot of possibilities for other stories and I can't wait to see where the author goes with it. I'm very interested in seeing if anything will happen between Lizzie and the werewolf sheriff.
If you've read this author before, you know a lot of her books are pretty erotic. This one is not and was a nice change in pace. It's a bit violent in places but otherwise is much more appropriate for a wide ranging audience.
I really liked this a lot and if you're looking for a new UF series I think you should give this a try.
Elizabeth Grace–witch reject and powerful psychic–comes to the Faelan werewolf reservation in the hope of finally finding a place where she can stop running and settle down. What she discovers instead is witch hating werewolves, and a well of wild magic that is unprotected and unrestrained. As the well begins to call to the darker forces of the world and the quiet reservation becomes the target of evil, Lizzie soon becomes involved in the fight to save a place she has come to love.
