Souljacker

A Lily Bound Novel, #1

"Souljacker" is the first book in a new series by Yasmine Galenorn.

Lily is a succubi. In order to satisfy her hunger without hurting anyone, she opens up her business Lily Bound for paying customers. She's able to kill two birds with one stone. Her clients can live out their fantasies and Lily can satisfy her hunger. But things take a nasty turn when a well known client is killed by a vampire at her home / business.

Lily hires Archer Desmond on the advice of her friend. Archer is a chaos demon / P.I., and Lily hopes he can help track down the vampire that is after her and her friends.

While the premise for the novel is interesting, and the world building is intriguing, I found the characters to be flawed and the plot to be cheesy/underdeveloped. I don't want to give too much away for those who still want to give the series a chance. But the sexual encounters are awkward and the connections feel unconvincing. I understand Lily is a succubi, but there is a right time and a wrong time to include a sex scene. By half way through the book I found myself bored and unable to continue.

Even though I didn't find this book to be everything I hoped it would be, it doesn't mean there aren't those who would enjoy it. This book is for fans of Paranormal Romance who enjoy a unique world.

Book Blurb for Souljacker

Lily O'Connell, a succubus, has put her unique talents to work. She owns Lily Bound, an elite sex salon in the Blood Night District of Seattle. When a client turns up dead in her club, and she hears the news that the Souljacker--an old tattoo-artist friend-turned-vampire, who was institutionalized years before--has escaped to reclaim his "artwork," Lily knows she's next on his list. With one of his tattoos on her thigh and nowhere else to turn, Lily hires Archer Desmond, a chaos demon and PI, to track the vampire down before he tracks her. But she didn't expect to fall for Archer-and they say a succubus who falls in love will destroy the heart of the one she seeks to claim...
