Specter Spectacular

13 Ghostly Tales

Specter Spectacular. What an appropriate title for an anthology teeming with ghostly tales. This collection of 13 ghost stories chilled me to the bone. Each story was scarier than the last and made me keep the lights on even after I put the book down. What made these stories so scary is that they had such a spooky atmosphere to them, scary events unfolded and the characters were interesting without being over-the-top. There’s also a bit of humor in these stories, but don’t be fooled. These short stories left me shivering with fright!

I loved reading all of the stories in this book. Some of my favorites were “Alabastar,” “Cinder,” “Death and Taxes” and “Pushed Out.” I especially liked “The Little House at Bull Run Creek” because it’s a Civil War ghost story, and “A Fitting Tribute” was absolutely terrifying. The story “The Secret of Echo Cottage” was also a frightening spooky tale but, like some of the others, was so life-like because it was the type of haunting that could very well happen in real life. Definitely check out Specter Spectacular, an anthology of ghost stories, if you enjoy reading spooky tales of ghosts and hauntings. Read this book, if you dare!
