Secrets Of Fae

Several pages in, I was looking at this book in a way that made me assume that I would have problems getting through it. I found that I had to take notes on characters and form family trees to keep my mind straight on who is who. That’s not usually something I have to do to get through a book, so I felt like I was actually reading as an occupation, rather than for pleasure as I intended. I found the first couple chapters to be rushed for a longer book, and it concerned me that this could be how the entire book was. As I continued reading, I found that my jumping theory was correct. I found myself asking more questions about the story than were answered. I believe that I would have enjoyed this book much more if it hadn’t seemed so rushed.

Alex Chase, High Priestess of Fae, just can’t keep her life from being threatened. Her secret of just how powerful she really is has been leaked to her enemies, and now Alex finds herself in a race against time to stop them from getting their hands on the ancient book of prophecies. Bonds between her lover, mentor, and family are tested as Alex learns more about her destiny and her powers. Not knowing who to trust, Alex takes matters into her own hands to save Fae. She’ll do whatever it takes, even if the consequences of her actions make her more diabolical than any other creature she faces. Will she fail and destroy her realm, or will she save them all?
