The revolution continues in this third installment in the Vampire Blood series. I have to say this has been my favorite of all the books. I really connected with the heroine and hero. All three books are wonderful and need to be read in order. If you are new to the series, pick up “The Black Lily” and get started.
In “The White Lily” we have courageous and warm hearted Brennalyn and Friedrich. Both are helping the rebellion in their own ways. Brennalyn is a teacher and has adopted several children. Juliette Cross really did a great job introducing the children as well as the main characters. You really get to know them quickly and know what drives them. Brennalyn loves the children and wants a better future for them.
Friedrich is the Duke of Winter Hill and connected to the royal family. But his loyalty is to the Black Lily. He’s playing a dangerous game and helping a rebellion that will take down his family members. But he has to stop the horrors that are happening to the people.
Brennalyn and Friedrich fall in love and Friedrich has to protect Brennalyn. His uncle is cruel and on the hunt for the White Lily…aka Brennalyn.
I loved these characters and can’t wait to catch up with them in the following books.
On a last note: Readers will fall in love with the castle and little town settings. I would love to visit the setting and stay in the castle.
To the north of the Varis empire, a mysterious faction spreads propaganda against the vampire monarchy. Friedrich Volya, the Duke of Winter Hill, seeks to discover who they are before his uncle finds them first. King Dominik will punish the traitors with brutal force.
Local schoolteacher, the raven-haired Brennalyn, is on her own mission—to spy on the duke and discover what she can for the Black Lily. She longs to help the commonwealth and bring justice to the many orphans left behind from the ravages of the blood madness, like the children she lovingly keeps in her care. What she doesn’t plan for is the heart-pounding attraction she feels for the duke, enemy to the Black Lily.
But when Brennalyn’s secret puts her life and the life of her children in danger, Friedrich steps in as her protector, she finds out there’s more to the duke than she thought.
