Stalking the Others

H&W Investigations, #4

Ever since Shiarra became associated with the Others, she’s experienced nothing but danger and heartbreak. They’ve used her, hurt her and betrayed her over and over. Unfortunately, Shiarra now finds herself stuck with them. Thanks to her ex, she soon may find herself turning into a werewolf come the full moon. If that’s not enough, she’s being torn in too many directions to count. The vamps want her on their side, the wolves on theirs. Add in the police and an underground society that wants her as their leader and it’s going to be an insane few weeks before the full moon.

The H&W Investigations series if one of must reads. I can’t last a day without buying them after they’re out. Since the very beginning Shiarra has been this kick ass, take no prisoners heroine who puts everyone else first. She may not want to do certain things, but if it means keeping the people she cares about safe, she’ll do it or die trying. For me, Stalking the Others started out with a bang and the hits never stopped coming. Shiarra is freaking out because she may be turning into a werewolf shortly. She doesn’t want to be used by Royce (her vampire) but she can’t seem to stay away from him either. There is this palpable sexual tension between the two and I can’t get enough of it. I love Royce, however, I’m never really sure if I like him. He always has an ulterior motive and I never know whether he can truly be trusted. I have to give Ms. Haines kudos for all the amazing little tricks up her sleeve while telling the story. Just when I think something will happen a certain way, we get turned in another direction. I’m already recommending Stalking the Others to all my friends and I can’t wait til the next one!
