Dark Days

Dark Days is the final Black London book. While I am sad to say goodbye to Jack and Pete, this is a satisfying wrap up to one of my favorite series. Thankfully, the author ends things so that she could, theoretically, go back to this world and characters someday. But even if she doesn’t, I closed this book content with how things stood. This has been a unique series in that Ms. Kittredge has alternated narrators and we end on my favorite: Jack. I have loved being in Jack’s head from the beginning. I adore seeing the world through his eyes. He loves Pete and their daughter so whole-heartedly, that he will do anything, literally, to protect them. Ms. Kittredge is a very talented writer and I look forward to what she brings us next.

Jack and Pete have been through some tight spots. But this one might be the end of them. Belial needs Jack’s help. A creature has escaped from Hell and it is like nothing Jack has ever faced. The creature is amassing quite a following and revolution is spreading through the ranks of Hell. But what happens in Hell doesn’t stay there. It will spill out into our world. When it looks as though Jack’s greatest fears are going to come to pass, will he finally have to give in to the Morrigan and lead her army of the dead?

Book Blurb for Dark Days

Jack Winter and his girlfriend Pete Caldecott have encountered a lot of strange creatures in the Black—primordial demons, hungry ghosts, witch hunters, and the Prince of Hell himself, Belial. When Belial asks Jack for one last favor to help him keep his throne, Jack may have finally met his match because Belial's rival is something that no one—human or demon—has ever seen before…

There’s a revolution brewing in Hell, and Jack might be the only one who can stop Belial’s rival from ripping a hole between the Black and the mortal world—a catastrophe that could be worse than Armageddon. But to win, Jack will have to do the one thing he swore he never would: become a servant to the Morrigan, and risk losing everything he knows and loves…including Pete.
