Don't Bite the Messenger

The Night Runner Series, #1

Don’t Bite the Messenger is not your average vampire book. Its takes place in Alaska and features Sydney who is a messenger between vampire clans. Yes she is like the pony express or carrier pigeons but humans delivering messages between warring vampires. Sydney is the best and her goal is to make enough money to retire to Hawaii before the vampires kill her off. She thinks she will be safe there in the sun in Hawaii. But fate works her magic and Sydney is caught in the crossfire of vampires. She escapes to Hawaii, but Malcolm comes after her. He is a hot vampire with more than protection on his mind. Plus Sydney is so glad he came to her rescue.

Don’t Bite the Messenger is a good book with a great Alaska setting. You get Alaska’s cold climate and Hawaii as well. Readers are in for a strong female lead in Sydney, you will love her. Malcolm is a hot bad ass vampire, but readers will also see his sweet side. My only complaint is there is no definite end. Maybe we will see that in the next book. I definitely recommend you try this book –no sparkly vampires included.

Anchorage, Alaska

The vampire population may have created an economic boom in Alaska, but their altered energy field fries most technology. They rely on hard-living-and short-lived-couriers to get business done...couriers like Sydney Kildare.

Sydney has survived to the ripe old age of twenty-six by being careful. She's careful when navigating her tempestuous clients, outrunning hijackers and avoiding anyone who might distract her from her plan of retiring young to a tropical, vampire-free island.

Her attitude-and immunity to vampires' allure-have made her the target of a faction of vampires trying to reclaim their territory. Her only ally is Malcolm Kelly, a secretive charmer with the uncanny habit of showing up whenever she's in trouble. Caught in the middle of a vampire turf war, Sydney has to count on Malcolm to help her survive, or the only place she'll retire is her grave...
